TERMS & CONDITIONS
The competition is open to amateur bands who will meet the following criteria:
- Groups whose members are all aged between 18-34 years old by September 13, 2012, male or female.
- Groups / Members of the group who have no recording/distribution contract with any independent or major recording label for the past five (5) years.
- A major recording label is defined as a brand or trademark associated with the production, manufacturing, marketing , distribution, enforcement of copyright and distribution of music recordings and music videos . It conducts talent scouting and development of new artists and maintains contracts with recording artists and their managers.
- Groups whose members have relatives up to the second degree of affinity or consanguinity to any employee of San Miguel Brewery, Inc. and its parent company San Miguel Corporation, its agencies, promo suppliers and their respective relatives up to second degree of consanguinity are disqualified from joining the competition.
- Groups whose members are or were never finalists of musical events and/or contests of any direct competitor of San Miguel Brewery, Inc.
- Groups, or any of its members whose recorded materials have never been aired on a regular basis on national radio stations
- Groups who have previously joined Muziklaban but have never qualified for the Grand Finals for the past three (3) years.
- Groups must be willing to reside in Metro Manila upon winning the competition or must be able to attend to the year round band gigs following the Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban calendar. They must also provide for their own band manager for schedules, billing and coordination purposes.
- The group cannot replace any of its members for the duration of the competition unless said member is deceased, or otherwise physically incapacitated to carry out his assigned tasks. In this case, a formal written notice must be sent to the organizer at least fourteen (14) days prior to the next performance of the affected band within the competition proper.
- Upon entering the competition, groups agree to sign on all waiver forms and all other similar documents as deemed necessary by San Miguel Brewery, Inc. and the TPA.
Winning Mechanics
- The grand cash prize of P 500,000.00 will be awarded to the winning band in equal quarterly partial payments within one (1) whole year starting January 2013. A waiver will be signed by all members in agreement.
- The Grand Champion must be willing to reside in Manila for one (1) year at their cost.
- The Grand Champion must find their own Band Manager at their own expense.
- Red Horse Beer will provide the following:
- Semi-Finals
- Winners of the Elimination Round will be given an allowance per band to cover their expenses (Transportation, Hotel & Accommodation, Meals, etc.) for the Semi-Finals, as controlled by the TPA.
- Finals
- Transportation allowance (Land Transfer and/or Airfare) for Grand Finalists outside the general area of the competition
- Transportation for all Grand Finalists throughout the entire 7-day course of the Grand Finals for the Pre-Grand Finals activities and Grand Finals day
- Meals for all Grand Finalists throughout the entire 7-day course of the Grand Finals leg
- 3-Night Hotel Accommodations to all Grand Finalists throughout the entire course of the Grand Finals leg
- The cash prize of P20,000.00 for the (1) Best Original Red Horse Beer Song Composition is for the Song rights, option to record the single and one (1) live performance, at the discretion of San Miguel Brewery, Inc.
- Red Horse Beer reserves the right to use any of the materials submitted or performed by the participants during the competition for promotions and other purposes.
- All materials submitted and recorded by the participants will become property of Red Horse Beer. Red Horse Beer reserves the right not to return these materials to the bands.
- The composers / lyricists / performers of the Original Red Horse Beer Song Composition will authorize ownership of the song material to Red Horse Beer. Red Horse Beer may utilize, alter, and revise the song’s melody / lyrics as applicable for the promotion of RHB.
- Red Horse Beer reserves the right to disqualify any band at any given time, for any reason whatsoever.
- Employees of San Miguel Brewery Inc. and its parent company San Miguel Corporation, its agencies, promo suppliers and their respective relatives up to second degree of consanguinity are disqualified from joining the competition.

- To access and download the entry form, user
- must be a registered member of Red Horse Beer’s website
- A unique code will be generated per successful submission of the online entry form. This code must be included in labeling entries (Manual or online)
- All bands must submit the following requirements along with the entry form:
- Submission of Entry 1: Manual
- Clearly recorded demo tape or CD/Video containing the following:
- One (1) original composition
- One (1) Red Horse Beer song composition (Optional)
- One (1) cover song from local or foreign artists
- Pictures of the band performing should also be submitted.
- All cassette tapes or CDs must be labeled clearly with the band’s name, unique code and titles of each song
- Lyrics of the band’s original & Red Horse Beer song compositions must be typewritten.
- Enclose the completed entry form and the above-stated requirements in an envelope with ten (10) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 500ml or five (5) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 1000ml or fifteen (15) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 330ml per band member. Seal and indicate on the envelope the band name.
- Manual entries may be submitted to all SMB sales offices and of the TPA offices
- Submission of Entry 2: Online
- Facebook.com (logo of FB may be used; see attached allowable logos)
- Each of the members must have existing (Facebook logo) account
- Each of the band members must (Like logo) the Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Facebook Fanpage
- Upload a clearly recorded video of the following on the Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Wall:
- One (1) original composition
- One (1) Red Horse Beer song composition (Optional)
- One (1) cover song from local or foreign artists
- Pictures of the band must be uploaded on the RHB Muziklaban Contestants photo album using the following format:
- Band Name
- Members’ Names
- URL of posted video
- Each of the band members to post and share on their Facebook walls, and invite friends to (like button)
- Lyrics of the band’s original & Red Horse Beer song compositions must be typewritten and submitted manually. Enclose the lyrics plus ten (10) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 500ml or five (5) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 1000ml or fifteen (15) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 330ml per band member. Seal and indicate on the envelope the band name.
- Manual entries may be submitted to all SMB sales offices and TPA offices
- Youtube.com (logo of Youtube may be used; see attached allowable logos)
- Each of the members must have existing (Youtube logo) accounts
- Registered (Youtube logo) members to upload their videos in their own accounts. Upload a clearly recorded video of the following on the Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Wall:
- One (1) original composition
- One (1) Red Horse Beer song composition (Optional)
- One (1) cover song from local or foreign artists
- Connect your (youtube logo) account and automatically post your upload to (Facebook logo) by clicking on the (Facebook logo) under Autoshare Options. You may also type the URL of the video uploaded on (Youtube logo) on the Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Facebook Fanpage
- Each of the members must have existing (Facebook logo) account
- Each of the band members must (Like logo) the Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Facebook Fanpage to be able to post the (youtube logo) video URL and upload pictures.
- Pictures of the band must be uploaded on the RHB Muziklaban Contestants photo album using the following format:
- Band Name
- Members’ Names
- URL of posted video
- Each of the band members to post and share on their Facebook walls, and invite friends to (like button)
- Lyrics of the band’s original & Red Horse Beer song compositions must be typewritten and submitted manually. Enclose the lyrics plus ten (10) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 500ml or five (5) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 1000ml or fifteen (15) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 330ml per band member. Seal and indicate on the envelope the band name.
- Manual entries may be submitted to all SMB sales offices and the TPA offices.
- Submission of Entry 3: Studio Auditions
- Interested Band members can choose to join the 2012 Pambansang Muziklaban Rock Challenge by participating in studio auditions happening Nationwide.
- Bands must register through the TPA. Schedule of studio auditions will be disclosed to the band at least 3 days prior to recording.
- Band must bring a copy of the entry form obtained from www.redhorsebeer.com, together with twenty four (24) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 500ml or five (12) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 1000ml or fifteen (48) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 330ml per band member. Seal and indicate on the envelope the band name.
- Battle of the Band Auditions
- Interested Band members can choose to join the 2012 Pambansang Muziklaban Rock Challenge through joining participating battle of the bands auditions happening Nationwide.
- Bands must register through the TPA. Schedule of battle of the bands auditions will be disclosed to the band at least 3 days prior to recording.
- Band must bring a copy of the entry form obtained from www.redhorsebeer.com, together ten (10) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 500ml or five (5) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 1000ml or fifteen (15) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 330ml per band member. Seal and indicate on the envelope the band name.
- Roving Van Auditions
- Interested Band members can choose to join the 2012 Pambansang Muziklaban Rock Challenge through joining participating radio network auditions happening Nationwide.
- Bands must register through the TPA. Schedule of battle of the bands auditions will be disclosed to the band at least 3 days prior to recording.
- Band must bring a copy of the entry form obtained from www.redhorsebeer.com, together with twenty four (24) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 500ml or five (12) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 1000ml or fifteen (48) crowns of Red Horse Beer 2012 330ml per band member. Seal and indicate on the envelope the band name.
Total recording time should not exceed 15 minutes.
Each material must not exceed 100mb. All three (3) songs must not exceed 15 min.
Each material must not exceed 2Gig. All three (3) songs must not exceed 15 min.
Selection of Entries
- Entries with incomplete requirements will be automatically disqualified.
- Demo CDs/Videos of eligible bands will be screened per area to qualify for the elimination rounds.
- Qualifying bands will be contacted through their mobile phones or landline. Announcement of qualifying bands will be available at www.redhorsebeer.com.
- Qualifying bands will compete in the elimination rounds in their designated regions. The top bands from each elimination round will move on to compete in the Semi-Finals. The top band from each Semi-Final round will be declared as the Area Champion and will compete during the Grand Finals.
- The Best Original Red Horse Beer Song Composition will be chosen from the Top 5 entries contributed by each of the 15 elimination points nationwide. Thus, expected total number of entries nationwide will be 60.
Prizes
- The top bands from each Semifinals and Grand Finals shall receive the following:
- (1) Grand Champion:
- Cash Prize (to be given in quarterly installments in 2013) – P500,000.00 cash tax free
- Band Start-up Support (Music Video or Album production to be liquidated within one year of winning. Non-use within said period forfeits the prize) – P300,000.00
- Band Performances / RHB endorsement contract (to be liquidated within one year upon winning. Terms and conditions apply) – P200,000.00
- (1) Best Original Red Horse Beer Song Composition:
- Cash Prize – P20,000.00 cash tax free
- (5) Area Champions – P15,000.00 cash tax free

Viewers’ Entrance Fee and Requirements
- Listed below are the requirements to enter the event venue:
- Only males and females 18 years old and above are allowed to enter.
- Each person must pay a price between P50 to P100 to enter the venue, which includes the price of one beer. (Price of tickets may vary per leg and or venue).
